A story of eight different couples with fleeting, delicate relationships and their “simple breakfast” as if to make up for what is lacking in body and soul after spending a night together, including a man who is reunited with a former high school classmate whom he continues to have feelings for; a university student’s first date with a girl whom he met through a matchmaking app; sex friends, who have been carrying on with their rather businesslike relationship.

Narita Misao is a rookie employee at a company. She doesn’t like Ichikawa Kazuya, who works in the same department. He is brutally honest when he talks to other people. Nevertheless, an incident leads to Narita Misao developing feelings for him. Ichikawa Kazuya also beomes attracted to her. The couple soon enter into an intimate relationship, but Narita Misao learns afterwards that Ichikawa Kazuya is engaged to his girlfriend. Narita Misao is confused by the situation and wonders what he is thinking.

Fujiwara Hana and Katayama Mizuki have been best friends since elementary school. When Hana gets dumped by her boyfriend who was cheating on her, Hana and Mizuki take a trip together to relieve her heartbreak. They meet two guys – Narita Yosuke and Ichinose Ayumu – at a hot spring inn at their destination. Although they have only just become acquainted, Yosuke suddenly chides Hana, who does not have it in her nature to speak her mind. At first, Hana gets defensive. But she starts to realize that her inability to speak out because she is too mindful of others is a shortcoming and tries to change. On the other hand, Mizuki, who has never dated seriously before, wants to be loved. Yosuke is despised for saying things that he thinks are for the other party’s sake while Ayumu is a mixture of kindness and frivolousness. Then there is Ayumu’s “younger brother” Kanata (Shimasaki Toa). Friendship, jealousy, betrayal, and quarrels swirl in each of them. They start to come to terms with themselves through love.

Yoshitaka Niimi works at the editorial department for a major publishing company. He is good at his job. The Chief Editor Ryuhei Kashiwazaki assigns him to work at the fashion magazine Pipin.

On his first day at Pipin, he is shocked at the different environment. The female staff seem rather unusual and then there's the appearance of the fashion models!

Kenichi Endo, Ren Osugi, Tomorowo Taguchi, Susumu Terajima, Yutaka Matsushige and Ken Mitsuishi all receive offers to take part in a big budget drama series with a famous lead actor and world famous director. To study their roles and relationships, the director asks the six supporting actors to live together for 3 months at a share house. The actors begin their temporary living arrangement. An incident from 10 years ago though causes the actors to hold resentment.

After they had tried some treatment for sterility for a long term, they once gave up to have a child. However, they came to know about "adoption", and they took Asato as their son. She couldn't imagine the life without Asato, and believed her happiness continued forever. One day, Satoko got an unexpected call from Katakura Hikari, who insisted that she was Asato's biological mother. Satoko was getting lost into the past because of this call.

In 1947, a year heavily tinged by the scars of war, Kitazawa Taro, Mitamura Kiichi, Arikawa Nobuo and other fellow poets who would play a central role in post-war Japan’s modern poetry movement gathered for the launch of the poetry magazine ‘Arechi’. 28 years later in 1975, a 53-year-old Kitazawa works at a newspaper’s proofreading department as he continues scrape by composing poetry. Although he is not prolific as a poet, he cherishes ordinary happiness every day surrounded by his wife Haruko and their daughter Yuko and son Sho. But a big turning point comes for Kitazawa one day. He develops frequent contact with Akiko, the wife of his good friend Mitamura. Falling in love with her, he abandons his job and leaves his wife Haruko and two children behind. As he starts to live with Akiko who has also left home, he recovers an unprecedented passion and “words”. Each of them start to live the life of the “wasteland”.

Shingo Murakia (Masahiro Matsuoka), a skilled chef, is appointed as a temporary teacher for a high school cooking class back in his old rural hometown. At first, Shingo finds himself up against his students' indifference to his class and in school in general. Slowly the teacher and his pupils find common ground and then start working together as they open a restaurant, which acts as a training ground for the students.

Fumi becomes Genzui Kusaka’s wife. During the turbulent times of the closing days for the Tokugawa shogunate, she lives positively and tries to keep up Shoin Yoshida's will. Shoin Yoshida is her older brother and intellectual.

Based on the novel Kabuka Boraku by Ikeido Jun. Bando Hiroshi works as a credit officer for a large bank. At the bank, opinions are divided over whether an additional loan to a giant supermarket chain should be approved. Hiroshi opposes the loan due to the supermarket's non-existent efforts to restructure. Meanwhile, Vice President of Planning Department, Ninohe Tetsuya, insists on approving the loan. He believes if the supermarket goes bankrupt than it will effect the bank itself. Also, Tetsuya has a strong dislike of Hiroshi. Tetsuya then devises a scheme that will get Hiroshi in trouble. At this time, a store of the giant supermarket chain is blown up. A message from the perpetrator arrives. The bomber demands the resignation of the supermarket CEO, Kazama Kozo. The CEO runs the supermarket in a dictatorial management style. If the demand the bomber's demand is not met, the bomber will carry out more explosions. The supermarket tries to coverup the bomber's demand as they fear the collapse of their company stock. Hiroshi though insists fiercely that the bomber's message should go public. Detective Yaen Hiromitsu begins to suspect a young man named Inunaki Ko Inunaki as the bomber. Inunaki Ko was at the scene of the crime.

Whereas the first series dealt with a deadly Russian weapons-grade virus, the new season is set two years later when an aircraft bearing a new kind of nuclear weapon threatens Tokyo.

After a biological terrorist attack kills off the population of a Russian town; Japan's Public Safety Special Third unit, code name THIRD-i, believes that the terrorist organization responsible plans to unleash the same virus known as Bloody X into Tokyo. Subsequently, THIRD-i recruits the help of genius hacker Takagi Fujimaru to find out what happened in the Russia. However, as Fujimaru becomes involved, he soon finds out that he is in over his head and that the terrorist groups influence reaches not only his school but even the police. Fujimaru must now rely on his skill as a hacker to unravel the organizations sinister plot and find out the truth behind "Bloody Monday."

The drama is an action suspense which follows college student sisters named Kai and Riku. They were spending every day peacefully, but one day, their father gets arrested on suspicion of burglary and murder. In order to return 100 million yen that is supposed to have been stolen by the father, the sisters become bounty hunters, and chase after 4 criminals.

Kyonosuke Kawamura is the successor to the prestigious Kishima family. He performs as a kabuki stage actor. One day, as he is leaving the theater, Kyonosuke Kawamura hears cheers from girls who are waiting for him. There, Ayame Chiba, who also attends the same high school, approaches him and shouts out "that is not Kagamijishi and I want my money back!"

Due to excessive expectation as the successor of the Kishima family, Kyonosuke becomes sick and tired of kabuki. He plays with best friend Haruhiko Sakamoto and female fans until late into the night. When he arrives back home, his father Yozaemon, who is a master in kabuki, scolds him. An argument ensues. Yozaemon has never acknowledged Kyonosuke's efforts. That is a big reason why Kyonosuke has become estranged from kabuki. He also can't forgive his father for always placing kabuki as his first priority. His father did not show up when his mother became gravely ill and died.

Kyonosuke then meets Ayame at school. She again complains about his performance. Kyonosuke also learns that Ayame has a favorite actor. He's embarrassed by her complaints. For his next performance, Kyonosuke shows up practice, but he is chewed out by his instructor Matsukichi. Others, including Shohei Sawayama, watch this and make fun of Kyonosuke behind his back. Kyonosuke also hears from his rival Ichiya Sawayama that he was shocked at his performance. Kyonosuke feels numb.

Based on the manga series "Pin to Kona" by Ako Shimaki (first published November 2009 by Monthly Cheese!)

A film adaptation of a Manga cartoon by Takashi Murakami of Osaka (not the contemporary artist from Tokyo). An abandoned car is discovered near a camping ground, and inside it is the body of an unidentified middle-aged man and a dog who seems to have died months later. This is the story of the life of the loving and faithful dog Happy and his owner (Toshiyuki Nishida). Told from the dog's point of view, it follows him from his puppyhood with a peaceful family, through life's changes, and to the long journey he finally makes with his owner, who he calls "father". A second story, "Himawarisou", continues the narrative, following the caseworker Okutsu Kyousuke (Tetsuji Tamayama). As he investigates the situation above, he remembers his late family and his own dog's unfailing loyalty.

The story follows a family of Japanese immigrants who crossed over to America 99 years ago. Kusanagi plays both the young Hiramatsu Chokichi (later taken over by Nakai) and his son, Ichiro. When the war breaks out the Japanese immigrants face racism and segregation. Ichiro pledges his alliance to America and gets sent to Europe, second son Jiro stays back with Ichiro's beloved Shinobu (who he has a crush on) and tries to protect his parents' farm. Their two sisters Shizu and Sachie are sent back to Japan and have to experience the horrors of war, one in Hiroshima and the other in Okinawa.
