It depicts the story of an investigative team dedicated to special cases that cannot be solved by regular departments, tracking down cases at sites where strange things have happened.

Nanase Sakura is a 23-year-old rookie nurse. She met Doctor Kairi Tendo several years ago and fell in love with him. To meet him again, she studied hard and became a nurse. After 5 years, she finally meets Kairi Tendo again, but he has a totally different personality than what she imagined. Kairi Tendo, who is 31-years-old, is commonly referred to as the "Devil" at work. He is a level-headed perfectionist and often makes biting remarks to doctors and nurses. Nanase Sakura works hard to receive recognition from Kairi Tendo and she also expresses her feelings honestly to him. Due to her persistence, Nanase Sakura becomes well known at the hospital and she picks up the nickname of the "Warrior." Meanwhile, Kairi Tendo becomes attracted to Nanase Sakura.

The eldest daughter of the distinguished head family of the famous Tsukishima style of flower arrangement, 29-year-old Tsukishima Momo has everything – beauty, talent, career and wealth. She is engaged to the man she deeply loves. However, she discovers her fiance has been two-timing her and cancels their marriage on the day of the wedding. A shattered Momo has a crisis of confidence all at once. That is when Kazama Naoto happens to show up. The owner of a bicycle shop, he is an ordinary man who has nothing, and she is a woman out of his league. In spite of this, the two of them fall in love.

One year has passed since Take Seiji became a full time employee at Oetsu Construction. The Take family, having moved into their new home, have been living there peacefully until Sumiko's brother shows up one day while she is out, and Seiji and Ayako discovers that their parents had in fact married despite objection from Sumiko's family.

Also, Manami, in the midst of her internship in Okayama, is coming back to Tokyo for a week, and so Seiji and Manami are finally able to reunite. Manami's father had passed away when she was young and her mother, Sayuri, had remarried since then. Growing up in such an environment, Manami had fostered a complicated relationship with her mother, and because of that the prospect of marriage wasn`t appealing to her.

Seiji, having just started his new life, hadn't really given much thought to marriage, but after meeting Manami's mother, he is shocked to learn how Manami feels about her mother and towards marriage. But one day, on the way home from drinking with the Oetsu Construction members, Seiji and Manami come across an abandoned kitty. After promising to take care of the kitty only until a new owner is found, Manami is able to take care of the kitty at her mother`s home. But, while Manami is out at work, the kitty becomes ill and Manami's mother not knowing what to do contacts Manami and so Seiji decides to take care of the kitty in the meantime. And, the very presence of the kitty becomes a turning point for both the Take family and Manami`s relationship with her mother...

Serizawa Hitomi works in the apartments development team of a prestigious real estate company, and is holding her own in a department that is predominantly male. She was raised singlehandedly by her father, Kensuke, after her mother, Kashiwada Kanako abandoned them 28 years ago. Currently engaged to be married to Dr. Sonoda Yuichi, she is looking forward to her wedding and her new life ahead.

100 days prior to her wedding, Hitomi is told that she has a tumor in her brain, and her chances of survival is indeterminate. Upon hearing the news, Yuichi is hesitant about going forward with the wedding, especially since his mother, Kyoko, objects to the wedding in the first place due to the two families difference in status. At the same time, Hitomi's mother, Kanako, suddenly appears in her life again. Kanako had heard of Hitomi's impending nuptials and decides to return to Japan as she is fully confident that her daughter will welcome her to her wedding. Kanako is a free-spirited unconventional woman, and she thinks nothing of bullying her daughter to fight for her life and her man...

Police Officer Kankichi Ryotsu (Shingo Katori) is back at the Kameri Park Polic Box. Kankichi Ryotsu usually means to do well, but more often than not he ends up causing all kinds of trouble. Like on his way to work he away when he is asked to pay up by a shop owner or cheats an elementary school student. Ryotsu's co-workers Reiko Catherine Akimoto (Karina) and Keiichi Nagakawa (Mokomichi Hayami)have had about all they can take from Kankichi and his boss Ohara (Masato Ibu) is constantly berating him. One day, Kankichi runs into Momoko (Kyoko Fukada) - a women who went to the same elementary school as Kankichi and who Kankichi had a crush on. Kankichi also befriends Momoko's elemtary school-aged daughter Yui (Ririka Kawashima). Kankichi learns that Momoko is a single mother and works with a travelling dance group. During this time, Kankichi dreams of one day marrying Momoko and retiring from the police force. Meanwhile, Momoko thinks fondly of Kankichi, but can't forget Yui's father Mitsuo (Shosuke Tanihara). Kankichi then skips out on his job to help with Momoko's dance group performance. Kankichi is then caught by his boss Ohara who comes to watch the performance. Kankichi and Ohara soon start to argue. Kankichi then becomes angry and declares that he is quitting the police force and marrying Momoko. During this time, the police learns the granddaughter of the Police Commissioner has been kidnapped. An investigation HQ is quickly setup. The police then disover that the girl kidnapped is not the Police Commissioner's daughter, but rather her classmate Yui. Because the victim isn't the Police Commissioner's daughter the police investigation seems to lose its sense of urgency which angers Kankichi. Kankichi then starts his own investigation with the help of Keiichi Nakagawa and purses the kidnapper. As they delve further into the case they uncover another case from the past which the police seem to want to hide ...

The story revolves around Take Seiji, who quits his job after three months. With no dreams, no savings, and a poor relationship with his family, he becomes a hikikomori. However, after his mother falls ill with depression, he ends up having to take on a part-time job at a construction site. Because of that, he soon decides to work towards rebuilding his life: "Even though I'm just a freeter, I'm going to buy a house for the sake of my family." One of the people he meets at the construction site is Chiba Manami, who graduated from a top-class university and joined a well-known general contracting firm. Manami is the complete opposite of Seiji. But while their personalities clash at first, they gradually come to understand each other.

Karina (27) will play a trainee detective whom Takako partners with.

Emi is a lighting technician in a lighting company. Because she is always working with men, she comes to behave like a boy. But she actually still loves her ex-boyfriend who is her colleague in the same company.

Saki is a beautiful and prideful girl. She hopes to be a journalist but she doesn't realize her dream. So she has to be a hostess in a bar to help support her family. She tells her family members that she was working in a large publisher house and earned a lot of money every month. She has met a kind and helpful man who is married and fallen in love with him.

Joe Yabuki is an aimless young man who runs away from an orphanage with no money and no place to stay. He runs into a former boxing trainer, Danpei, who still has a strong passion for boxing. Danpei watches Joe fight and regains his desire to train future boxers. Joe, however, does not have any interest in boxing until he ends up in a juvenile prison where he meets Rikiishi, a former boxing prodigy. They quickly develop a rivalry, and a newfound interest in boxing overcomes everybody in prison, including Joe.

Matsuda Makie (Karina) works as a manager of flower shop in Tokyo & hasn't had a date in 2 years. Even though she is attractive her personality is tomboyish. She then meets geeky old acquaintance Miharu (Kei Tanaka), who works as a anime screenwriter & hasn't seen in 17 years. Miharu falls in love with Makie.

The day Miharu decides to confess his feelings for Makie, Makie's ex-boyfriend visits her...

After Sosuke is involved in a fatal accident, Yuzu's family discovers she is 5 months pregnant with his child. Though Yuzu is intent on having the child, her mother, Miyoko, is immediately against it. After her family comes to terms with her pregnancy, Yuzu eventually gives birth to her daughter, Himawari. With many odds against her, Yuzu does her best to care for the daughter she so dearly loves.

Here's a 31-year old autistic man whose intelligence is only of a 10-year old child. Due to the lack of understanding, people around him get confused and sometimes mad at him. His family watches over him warmly, and with the help of his childhood friend, he opens up his world little by little, but basically he just keeps on walking his own way. This heartwarming drama follows his life and how people around him change their views and actually learn from him.

Kenta, a young pianist who has just lost his job, is drowning his woes at a bar when he meets a man in a Hawaiian shirt named Yamaki. He invites Kenta to work with him, and the next thing he knows, Kenta wakes up to find himself in a room he has never been in before. It is a strange room that seems to have no connection to life. He descends a staircase to find many shelves of books. Yamaki appears once again and tells him that this is Heaven's Book Service, and Kenta is going to start working a short-term, part-time job here. In addition to selling books, this bookstore, owned by Yamaki, provides a service of reading aloud to customers. Although he is unsure of his new surroundings, Kenta follows their actions and starts to work in his new part-time job.

Yuka Misaki, whose parents run a flower shop, casually begins dating college student Akio Asami, and later falls for him. But due to some type of accident, the two lose contact with one another.

One year after the accident, the two suddenly meet again. Yuka is still working at her father Shigeo's flower shop, and Akio is a teacher at a nearby high school.

It's January 7, just right after the New Year begins. Makeup classes are being held for students that aren't keeping up with their daily studies. Taking the classes are the popular Tadashi Otomo, and the leader of the delinquent students, Sho Takamatsu. And giving the lecturers is Noriko Sekiya, a teacher that has taken out all kinds of loans to pay for the popular brand items that she buys.

Yuka comes to the school to collect money from Noriko. While at the school, with thoughts of the past in the back of her mind, Yuka and Akio meet and get into a fight. Then all of a sudden, there is a small tremor, and after it subsides.
