    Sanpuu Minami is a popular shojo manga artist who is believed by many to be a woman. In actuality, though, his real identity is Eichizen Gotaro, a single father with two children. One day, he receives a notification from the court that he has been appointed as a prosecutor's office examiner. With the deadline for his manga approaching, he requests a withdrawal but this is declined due to a lack of special circumstances.

    He joins 11 other people randomly selected from ordinary Japanese citizens, who each have unique personalities and give off the impression that they would like to get this over and done with. At first, Gotaro has a negative attitude towards the Prosecution Review Board, but as he gets closer to the thoughts of those behind the case, he starts to appreciate how important this job is.

    Doumeki Miki lives in a small rural village surrounded by abundant nature and beautiful scenery. After becoming a widow at an early age, she’s spent many years working as a leader in her village. A beautiful, intelligent woman in her 70s, she’s incredibly spry, with perfect posture.

    Whenever a problem arises, her neighbors all rush to Miki for advice.

    When faced with two bickering villagers:

    “Your plum tree is ruining my view!”

    “Well, your cherry blossom tree is an eyesore, too!” Miki’s response is simple.

    “Then, I’ll cut down both of your trees!” Strangely enough, after being reminded of how joyful it is to watch the seasons change through the blossoming of different trees, both neighbors cease their arguing and calm down.

    One spring, Miki’s son moves himself and his family back to the village after living in the city and she comes face to face with her 6 year old granddaughter, Ako. Despite Miki’s severe personality and intimidating presence, the little girl seems intent on befriending her...

    Story 1- In the night of September 16, 1890, the Turkish frigate Ertugrul is caught up in a typhoon and sinks off the coast of Kushimoto, Japan. With more than 500 crew members dead, it's the largest sea accident in history at that time. An extraordinary rescue effort is taken by the local residents to save the Turkish sailors.

    Story 2 - In 1985, during the Iran-Iraq War, Iraq announces an indiscriminate attack over Iranian air space. More than 300 Japanese nationals are stuck in Tehran, Iran. Turkey offers to evacuate the Japanese by sending a Turkish airplane. For the remaining Turks who are still in Tehran, this means that they won't be able to board their own country's evacuation flight.

    Morio Kiyomi was the subject of envy, when she married Dr. Yanagisawa Shigero, the owner of Yanagisawa Clinic. Although the marriage brought her status and wealth, Kiyomi was not blessed with children. The couple then decided to go through the In Vitro Fertilisation program, and soon Kiyomi successfully gave birth to a little baby. Unfortunately, the baby was born with an illness that can only be cured through stem cell transfer, and so the Yanagisawas decided to have another baby in order to save their existing child. However, Kiyomi's body is too weak to have another child, and so she approaches her estranged younger sister, Manami, to be the surrogate mother. Unbeknownst to Kiyomi, Manami is actually very bitter about her good fortune in landing a rich man, and is plotting vengeance on her.Kiyomi is creating another life just so she can save her child, without any consideration on the ethics of the decision. Is it maternal love? Or just plain egotism?
