Inspector SUN CHIU-TUNG (Liza Wang) leaves the police force because of an unsettled case. Hau Tak Sze has recently inherited his late father's social club, besides managing the club he also works full-time as a court mediator. He meets Mo Sui Yee, who is in the process of divorcing her cheating ex-husband, during one of his cases. Sui Yee moves into her aunt Lam Ah Lui's home during her divorce, she soon finds out that her ex-husband's lover also lives in the same building as her aunt. Since Tak Sze visits the building frequently Sui Yee thinks both him and her ex-husband's lover are in cohorts together to try to gain her property from her divorce. Mo Sui Yee gets a job at Au Yeung Ai's law office, Tak Sze also visits the law office frequently because he is best friends with Yeung Ai. Through her boss and new job, Sui Yee learns that Tak Sze is truly a nice guy who works hard at his job.

Raymond Cho and Pal Sinn are partners of a solicitor firm. They invite Roger Kwok and Johnson Lee to join the firm as well. Despite their different personalities, the four men share a close bond. They are well-known within the legal circle as "The Big Four Mature Men". Their creative tactics to win court cases has won over many female clients. Unfortunately, someone has swindled money from the firm. To save the firm from financial distress, four female lawyers are brought in. They include Roger's rival (Sharon Chan), Johnson's wealthy wife (Selena Li), a housewife (Joyce Tang) and a barrister (Grace Wong) who gets entangled with Pal and Johnson. The eight people's working and private relationships get more and more messy, until they finally realize that there is someone behind all the happenings at the law firm. With Roger Kwok leaving the firm and Raymond Cho mysterious disappearance with the firm's money, what would become of the law firm? Will the four women, Selena Li, Sharon Chan, Grace Wong, and Joyce Tang save the firm? What would turn out in the end? What was the mystery behind Ming Sir (Raymond Cho's) disappearance? Will Roger Kwok join back and help?

Sit Dan Yan (Johnson Lee) seems like an ordinary police officer at first glance, but he secretly holds a special talent in solving the trickiest cases. Taking after his grandfather, Dan Yan inherits the talent in metaphysics and is able to gain answers to murder cases at the most critical moments. As well, Dan Yan has the help of good friend, Leung Sing Kau (Oscar Leung) – a talented individual who has sources in both the police and triad worlds. Together with his boss, Che Gui Fei (Joey Meng), who has an educational background in criminal psychology, the trio makes a highly compatible team in the law enforcement world. While Gui Fei is an outstanding leader at work, she is also a very strict yet caring sister to Che Gui Mei (Harriet Yeung 楊詩敏) and Che Gui Kwan (Fred Cheng 鄭俊弘). Constantly worried about her younger siblings’ well being, Gui Fei enlists Dan Yun’s help in breaking up the love triangle between Gui Mei, Sing Kau, and Ti Leung Chi (Rebecca Zhu). Unfortunately, while Gui Fei is focused on helping her sister, a series of abductions occur in the city. However, the kidnapping case brings back unwanted memories for Dan Yun, who recalls a similar case with the same modus operandi from his past.

Multi-talented scholar Tong Bak Fu is traveling around the country with his good friend Wat Gei. Tong Bak Fu is trying to find the last beauty to complete his 'Nine Beauties Painting'. During his journey he falls in love with Chau Heung, a maid from the Wah family, and decides to paint her to complete his painting. In order to get close to her, he becomes a servant of the Wah family. In the beginning Tong Bak Fu is regarded as a talentless person by Chau Heung. Things get messier as several difficulties arise that only Tong Bak Fu can solve. With different views about life, Tong Bak Fu and Chau Heung seem to be incompatible. Spoilt Princess Tin Yuk makes things harder as she bullies Tong Bak Fu and others constantly, but falls in love with Tong Bak Fu later. To complicate things, Tong Bak Fu gets involved into a power struggle among the Emperor, Prince Ling and others.

Into Thin Air' begins with Zhing and Winnie as a married couple. One day when Zhing is solving a case about a 'Rose Murderer', his son is there. His son wants to play with Zhing and Zhing is annoyed because he is trying to catch the murderer, so he shouts at him and pushes him away. Zhing then tries to find the murderer but the murderer has escaped. After this incident Zhing was fired and wasn't a police officer anymore.

Two years later the series tells us that Zhing and Winnie are divorced. Zhing has opened a service place that helps people find lost belongings with his cousin Super and friends Bo and Yen. Zhing has opened this servicing place to help people find what they have lost and also in the hope of finding his son.

Siu and her father are in the acting industry but they play small parts in series and they help out the director. One day Siu is looking after many children that are a part of a series and she brings them to a fast food restaurant. The children are all running about and being quite noisy. Zhing and Super are at the fast food restaurant too and see all the children running around in circles. Siu loses her earring and Zhing helps her find it. They acknowledge each other and Siu and Zhing exchange business cards.

'Into Thin Air' continues with a range of sub plots, mysteries and investigations. This series is also full of suspense, romance and emotional moments.
