Moo Jin hopes to reunite with his beloved ex-wife Ae Yeon and even tries to seduce her, but the daughter, Mi Rae, is strongly opposed to her father's idea. Unlike his sister, Hyun Jae supports his dad's attempt at reconciliation.

During his college days, Hyun-Woo was involved in the student led anti-government protests that swept across Korea in the early 1980’s. Now that he is finally free, Hyun-Woo travels back to the town where he spent a few precious months immediately prior to his arrest. 17 years ago, Hyun-Woo fled into the rural areas of Korea, hiding from the government that was trying to quash his anti-government group. He found sanctuary in the home of Han Yoon-Hee (Yum Jung-Ah). She was a former sympathizer to the anti-government cause, but now living a modest life as a teacher in a small rural community. The couple quickly became intimate, Hyun-Woo able to provide the spark that was missing from Han Yoon-Hee’s simple life.

    Unfortunately, while Hyun-Woo was still hiding in Han Yoon-Hee’s home, he learned that most of his fellow anti-government protesters were captured & imprisoned. Even though the government now has Hyun-Woo high on their most wanted list, he feels ashamed that he is living peacefully while his friends are imprisoned. Thus, he makes the difficult decision to leave Han Yoon-Hee and go back to the movement centered in Seoul. What he would later learn is that he left behind the sole person that would stay faithful to him throughout his 17 year imprisonment and also the woman that is carrying his baby.

    A Mainland director, Nie Wen, decides to make a film musical starring his Mainland girlfriend, Sun Na, and Hong Kong actor, Lin Jian Dong. Unknown to him, Sun had met Lin before ten years ago when she was a cabaret singer in Beijing. The two had a relationship together at that time when Lin was a film student. Ten years later, now a huge movie star, Sun refuses to acknowledge they have met before.

    Nie plans his musical, which includes a plot where a girl loses her memory and comes to live with a circus troupe. Sun plays the amnesiac girl and Lin, her former boyfriend who tries to revive her memories. As the shooting of the movie starts, reel life and real life overlap. Lin tries desperately to win back Sun's lost love, while Nie discovers their past romance. Nie himself plays the role of the obsessive circus owner in the musical, who is involved in a love triangle. Just like in real life, he has Lin as his rival.

    Monty is a fantasy character who has a number of different roles in the movie, such as a noodle shop owner and a reporter.

    If You Were Me is a 2003 South Korean omnibus film, comprising six short films directed by six prominent Korean directors, Jeong Jae Eun, Yim Soon Rye, Yeo Kyun Dong, Park Chan Wook, Park Jin Pyo, Park Kwang Su. Commissioned by South Korea's National Human Rights Commission, each of the shorts deal with discrimination in Korea. The film has spawned several live-action sequels, as well as two animated films, which deal with similar themes.

    "Tongue Tied" - Korean parents' extreme fervor for education is exposed as a child undergoes a tongue operation to enhance his ability in spoken English. Directed by Park Jin Pyo.

    "N.E.P.A.L.: Never Ending Peace and Love" - A Nepalese woman named Chandra spends six years in a mental hospital after she was mistakenly accused of losing her mind. Tackles the human rights of foreign laborers in Korea. Directed by Park Chan-wook.

    A genius serial killer named Shin Hyun (Cho Seung-Woo), who murdered six women, walks into a police station carrying a bag. He dumps the bag over an officer's desk and mutilated body pieces of a woman fall everywhere. All the cops stop in their tracks, utterly surprised. Shin Hyun just laughs out loud. A year later, at a garbage dump, the bodies of a high school girl and her unborn child are discovered and Detective Kim (Yum Jung-Ah) and Detective Kang (Ji Jin-Hee) are assigned to the case. But in the meantime, another corpse of a pregnant woman is discovered, and Detectives Kang and Kim feel as if Shin Hyun's serial murders a year ago are somehow related to this case as well. The case grows more mysterious as all the suspects Detectives Kang and Kim find are killed off one by one. The last, sixth victim is left and it's a race against time to find out what evil force is behind these brutal murders.
