1. The Eve

The opening segment is about an engineer, Lin Zhiyuan, racing against time to perfect an automatic flag-raising mechanism before the founding ceremony of the People's Republic of China on October 1, 1949.

2. Passing by

The second story sees a scientist, Gao Yuan, played by Zhang Yi, work on China's first atom bomb who had to bid farewell forever to his lover in the 1960s.

3. The Champion

The third story is about how a little Shanghai lad named Dong Dong helped his neighbors watch TV for the China women's national volleyball team's Olympic gold medal win in 1984.

4. Going Home

The fourth story is about a Chinese executive delegation and local policemen preparing for the return of Hong Kong from British rule to China in 1997. The 12-second silence between the British and Chinese anthems during the Hong Kong handover ceremony is also reflected in this part.

5. Hello Beijing

The fifth story is about a taxi driver who gives a ticket to the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics to a boy from the Sichuan earthquake zone though it was intended to be a birthday gift to his aloof son.

6. The Guiding Star

The sixth story is about a pair of homeless brothers who witness the landing of the capsule of the Shenzhou 11 manned spacecraft on November 18, 2016, a moment of national pride that touched them.

7. One for All

It follows the story of a top female fighter jet pilot Lü Xiaoran who helps her fellow pilots accomplish a smooth aerial performance at the Military Parade of the 70th Anniversary of the Victory in the Second Sino-Japanese War in 2015.

Xiao Xiao Bin acts out little Xiao Shen Yang, and Jacky Wu is an exceptional expert who lives at the bottom of a valley.

Set during the early years of the Chinese republic, when feuding warlords waged constant wars to expand their power, young army leader Hao Jie and his sworn brother Huo Lung find little resistance invading the township of Dengfeng. The film takes place in 2046. The Chinese government has created the first cybernetic organism, K1, programmed with sophisticated social conscience, ideal for police applications. Initially deployed in a remote village for testing, K1, is loved by the villagers, and performs all duties and expectations flawlessly, except one. Su Mei, a fellow police officer falls in love with K1, creating a problem as cyborgs are not programmed to feel such feelings. Meanwhile, another cyborg, K88, disappears after suffering a neural meltdown, and K1 is called in to hunt down the renegade robot.

Xuanzhen eventually arrives, with him his favourite disciple Yun Ming, at Southern Shaolin to take up the position as its abbot. Yun Ming is the head of Northen Shaolin's Arhat Hall. Yun Ming now covets the leadership of the 36th Chamber of Southern Shaolin. Actually, he's the leader of a pack of orphans left behind by Japanese bandits, and he comes with a hidden agenda of reclaiming treasures buried at Southern Shaolin Temple. And so, a fierce competition ensues between Yun Ming and Fang Shiyu for the chief of 36th Chamber.

With the assistance from Cao Tai Xu, Lu Siniang successfully sneaks into the palace and comes face to face with Emperor Yongzheng. Soon, news of Yongzheng's murder broke out and Hongli ascends the throne as Emperor Qianlong. Emperor Qianlong sends four Imperial Guards to arrest her. At the same time, he also issues a decree for Fang Shiyu to capture Lu Siniang...
