Newcomer Amaya Miyuki belongs to the crew of the manned research submersible Shinkai 6500 (6K) at the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC), and dreams of becoming the pilot of the 6K. Her late father, Atsushi, had also been active as a brilliant pilot and researcher of JAMSTEC. He risked his own life to unravel the phenomenon called the “abyssopelagic universe”, but died of illness without fulfilling his life ambition. Miyuki is intent on exploring the deep sea that her father had told her about when she was a child, and devotes herself to her duties as a cadet pilot every day. Then one day, Miyuki gets the chance to board the 6K. JAMSTEC devotes itself to public relations activities on Japan’s first female pilot. But right before her voyage, Miyuki finds a tape from her father’s locker. It is a video that recorded enormous unknown objects and the fear of the pilots who were stranded in the deep sea. This also captured the last moments of her father. Seeing the shocking footage which bears no resemblance to the beautiful deep sea, Miyuki is assailed by an intense fear. Will she be able to come back safely from the dark deep sea?

A group of high school students embark on their annual walk, which consists of the students walking 80 kilometers in 24 hours. During their outing, senior student Takako Koda (Mikako Tabe) strikes up the courage to befriend classmate You Nishiwaki (Takuya Ishida). The other students believe they may have feelings for each other...

Mikako is a young junior high school teacher who has just transferred to a new school. Excited to be starting a new job, she volunteers for a coach for a boys volleyball club. But, she finds out that there is almost no activity in the club… There are only 5 members, and they are all losers who haven’t even touched a volleyball and only think about girls…

To give them an incentive to try hard, she promises them that she will show them her boobs if they win a game! Since then, the boys start practicing extremely hard. Feeling uneasy but happy at the same time to see their attitude changing, Mikako starts to like and trust them. She also learns from them and gets back her confidence which once she lost.

Right before the day of the first game, ‘the promise’ is discovered by the school side, and it becomes a big problem…

Takei plays Yoshino Nao, a girl who fails the entrance exams of her target high school. She winds up enrolling in a technical high school called Kenritsu Asuka Kougyou Koukou, also known by the nickname "Asuko." Based on the same-titled novel, the drama is set in the year 1964, the year the Olympics were held in Tokyo. A nation trying to rebuild its economy post world war II, Japan was eager to show the world what it had to offer. Amidst all the excitement and enthusiasm, two fires had broken out consecutively; at the private residence of the Chief of Police, Suga Shuichiro, and then at the Nakano Police Academy. However, both incidents were hushed up, and even Detective Ochiai Masao, from Division One MPD (Metropolitan Police Department) had to find out about it from his fellow colleague. Ochiai was puzzled as to why no investigations were being carried out and it soon came to light that prior to the first fire at the Chief's home, a threatening letter had been sent to the MPD. In view of the upcoming Olympics, everyone at the MPD were feeling jittery over the letter and the arson, and thus a team was set up to ensure the safety of the public during the event. Ochiai and his team mates were to carry out the investigation secretly. Information came to Ochiai, that some 25 tubes of dynamite were stolen from a gunpowder factory. While questioning the owner, Ochiai was introduced to Shimazaki Kunio, a poor student from Akita prefecture, attending Tokyo University and working part-time there. Suspecting him of the crime, Ochiai started digging around into Shimazaki's life and was surprised to find out that his own sister, Yumi, was actually dating Shimazaki!

Soumato Corporation is intriguing place where recorded images of one’s life can be viewed on DVD. A person who happen sto stray into Soumato Corporation, will be handed DVDs equivalent in number to his age by Kaminuma (Kashii Yu), the company’s mysterious guide. She will tell him to go back and watch his life to his heart’s content. What he will see on these DVDs is his own life through the eyes of other people. He will learn startling facts that are better left unsaid. What will he think after watching everything?
