A story about the friendship between a 17-year-old high school girl and a 75-year-old lady who met through BL manga.

On Oriyama Karin’s 16th birthday, she receives a present from her rich parents. Her present is marriage. The person she marries is her crush and high school senior Tsurugi Nao who is popular. Debt ridden Nao only marries Karin for economic reasons and in particular the wealth of her parents. Karin loves him truly, but Nao doesn't love her at all.

Their marriage is a secret, but Ebina Isuzu, Karin's friend, holds feelings for Karin, learns of their marriage.

The 17-year-old Yatabe Mineko grew up in a family of seven in a mountain village in northeastern Ibaraki Prefecture. Her father Minoru has gone to Tokyo to work in order to earn extra money. However, her life completely changes when her father does not come back for the New Year. Mineko asks her family to let her go to Tokyo to find him and promises to send money home. In the autumn of 1964, she and two childhood friends Tokiko and Mitsuo are hired to start working at a small factory in Tokyo’s working class neighborhood. After work each day, Mineko searches for her father and gets disheartened at times. Mineko overcomes challenges and starts to lay down roots in Tokyo as she experiences many meetings and farewells amid the laughter and tears with regulars, people of the shopping street, friends, and colleagues. But will she be able to find her father?

Hikuma Koichi, a former saxophone player who has turned his back on music due to the aftereffects of an accident, becomes the advisor of a small brass band at a run-down high school. He has to deal with problem students who have lost their dreams as well as the teachers’ opposition to a professional musician entering the classroom. The path is not easy for him. Even so, Hikuma rediscovers his dream, confronts the students head-on and starts to coach the band. Despite their bewilderment, the students begin to reciprocate his passion for music.

17-year-old Sara (Minami Hoshino) gets into an accident and falls into critical condition. She wakes up in the hospital the next morning and sees a nurse, Nanami (Asuka Saito), next to her bed. Sara can not feel pain. Nanami shows Sara around the hospital.

At night, Sara knows Nanami is a patient and not a nurse. She also knows that she has been in a coma for the past 10 years since she got into the car accident at the age of 7. Sara is also surprised that she is still in a coma. She is having an out-of-body experience.
