Kurose Reiji was born in the countryside, and has spent his life believing he can never leave his town. He cannot leave his mother alone with his shut-in brother and demented grandmother, nor can he escape the clutches of Minegishi Gen, who keeps Reiji at his beck and call. In contrast, his childhood friend Akiyama Sakuko sees past the nothingness of their gloomy town and dreams of the chaotic glamor of Tokyo. As a way to withdraw from his monotonous life, Reiji finds comfort in watching the performances of "Acrylic," an idol group, and its most beautiful member, Aoe Nagi. But when he encounters the famous idol behind a convenience store in his grim town, he does not anticipate that he will soon be involved in a series of scandalous events that seem to be a repercussion of times long past. Robbed of his innocence, Reiji struggles to wade through the abyss of sin he has been pulled into, all while an intricate web of lies, obsession, and betrayal threatens to tear him apart.

Shintaro is a detective at the Kichijoji police station in Tokyo, Japan. Shintaro works with Yu Nagamine. In his personal life, Shintaro is married to Kaori and has three children. His wife is currently hospitalized. In the past, Shintaro's work as a detective was exemplary, but after his wife became ill his focus shifted to taking care of his family. Arrest ratings at his police station dropped because of this. Shintaro tries his best to balance work with taking care of his family, but it is difficult. Karoi's mother, Yoshie, then offers to take care of the kids.

A married couple who refer to each other as “Muko-san” and “Tsuma”. The couple share a loving relationship, but they begin to gradually grow apart when a certain letter arrives addressed to Muko.

Red Venus, with Yokohama as it's base, is an organization that mediates various crimes... In order to arrest such an evil organization, a Special Investigations Division was set up at the Kanagawa Prefecture Police Department. The group of elite detectives are just about to be able to get to the bottom of everything, when they fall for a trap. They get trapped in a harbor warehouse, where they are intoxicated with the special gas that the Red Venus created, and as a result the members of the Special Investigations Division...turn into children!! Welcoming in an adult rookie detective, despite being in their child form, the Special Investigations Division continue on with their investigation to arrest the Red Venus. In the midst of all that, a murder case arises and the Red Venus is seen as reponsible for it. While attending school, they continue on with their investigations! When they finally hone down on the suspect and just as they are about to get to the suspect, the Red Venus beats them to it. Will the Special Investigations Division really be able to arrest the Red Venus!? The battle of the child-turned Special Investigations Division begins! --TBS
