Season 20 of Kasouken no Onna.

Sakaki Mariko attends an annual concert held by the Kyoto Prefecture Police Music Band. At that time, Mariko hears from Domon Kaoru that a woman's dead body is found under a cliff. The victim is Konno Megumi, and she was murdered. The fingerprint of Katsumata Toru is found on the guitar which belonged to the victim. Toru is a guitarist in the police music band. As a result of the examination of musical instruments belonging to the police music band, Mariko and Kaoru discover a hidden truth behind Megumi's murder.

Members of the Science Research Institute including Sakaki Mariko from the Kyoto Prefectural Police Crime Lab try to solve cases by using forensic medicine, physics and chemistry. Sakaki Mariko goes by the motto "Science never lies."

As a young child, 13-year-old Junichi Miyata was bullied at school and cried easily. He made a promise to himself that he would grow up into a "cool guy" - not so easily displaying his emotions. Now as a middle-aged man, Junichi Miyata (Ken Mitsuishi) works as a driver for a parcel delivery company. He lives with his two kids, unemployed 19-year-old Toshiya (Ryu Morioka) & 18-year-old Momoko (Jun Yoshinaga). Junichi's wife passed away from stomach cancer several years earlier. Junichi now finds it difficult to communicate with his kids and he's worried that he has cancer like his late wife. Junichi then visits old friend Sanada (Tomorowo Taguchi) to talk about his problems. Miyata hopes to graduate from college and build fond memories with his children before it's too late.

On the morning of the high school's graduation day, a voice over the school's intercom announces that "one hour later, everyone will die." But there is a way to survive. The students must offer a sacrifice. All the students become caught up in the survival game.

17 year old high school student Rio is always the center of attention due to her beauty. Yet, Rio has never cared about anyone but herself due to her traumatic past. Her friends and boyfriends exist only so she can use them for her gains. Rio is only interested in money.

Then one day she meets 35 year college professor Kouki and falls in love for the first time. Rio feels confused by her emotional change and expresses her love to Kouki honestly. Although Kouki becomes interested in Rio there is a reason he can't pursue the relationship.

One day the class chairman asks to photograph her during a performance, but the moment he snaps the photo she's making a face that resembles a spawning salmon. Completely mortified, she decides to quit the choir, but eventually she runs into a gang of choral thugs from River High and their leader teaches her the importance of musical soul.

Tamako, an elite lawyer with a promising future, works for a reputable law firm. She is recently given an opportunity to take a case involving a young child who has been bullied at a local elementary school. Fully aware of the difficulties uncovering the truth in cases involving schools, Tamako is reluctant to proceed with her new client. Tamako is romantically involved with one of her colleagues, Naoyuki, and is hoping to further develop their relationship. However, Tamako's seemingly happy life comes to a sudden halt when she learns the news of an accident involving a young female high school student named Asuka. Asuka had apparently fallen from a classroom window on campus and suffered serious injuries. Tamako takes a strong interest in Asuka's case and immediately launches her own private investigation.
