Set during the Edo period. Ichiro Onodera’s father dies suddenly due to a fire at home. 19-year-old Ichiro Onodera (Kento Nagayama) comes home. His father was supposed to prepare Sankin-kotai and lead the lines of Sankin-kotai to Edo. After his father's death, Ichiro Onodera leads the lines of Sankin-kotai and heads to Edo. During the journey, he faces various cases and schemes which targets his family.

Mayu the teen girl hasn't opened her heart to anyone since ten years ago when some terrible case happened. Instead of going to high school, she goes to the church every day and looks for redemption. One day, she disappears in the woods, silently and suddenly. On the other side, Mana lives with her husband and her seven-year-old daughter in happiness. However, an unexpected occurrence happens and tears their happiness apart. Her little girl Sakura plays in the woods and goes missing. Mana loses her mind because of sadness. What is there inside the woods?

Despite their intellectual differences, Kotoko Aihara (Honoka Miki) and Naoki Irie (Yuki Furukawa) are now happily ensconced in love and marriage. Kotoko - still adorably scatterbrained - struggles in her nursing school studies, while smarty-pants Naoki breezes through medical school. But under the newfound pressure of married life and adulthood, can these newlyweds keep the magic alive well after the honeymoon has ended? On top of that, new romantic rivals challenge Kotoko and Naoki's bond.

At a high school entrance ceremony, high school student Kotoko Aihara (Honoka Miki), who isn't that smart, notices pretty boy Naoki Irie (Yuki Furukawa). She falls in love with him immediately. Kotoko initially doesn't express her feelings to him, but finally has a chance to tell him how she feels. Unfortunately, Naoki turns Kotoko down, saying "I don't like dumb women." One day, Kotoko Aihara's house is severely damaged by an earthquake. Until the house is rebuilt, Kotoko Aihara and her father decide to live with her father's friend. When Kotoko Aihara moves to her new temporary house, she is surprised to learn that Naoki Irie lives there as well. 

Esumi's character Tamami is the "bull doctor" of the show's title, which comes from the word "bulldozer." Ignoring any opposition from the people around her, she uses any means necessary to determine the truth behind the deaths of the bodies she examines. Because of her personality, she is constantly at odds with both Ishihara and Inagaki's characters.
