This drama is based on the Hong Kong TV industry in the 1980s, featuring characters who were TV artists in that era and how they later worked their way to become Hong Kong TV's future superstars.

Rewind to Wai Tak Shun’s childhood days and Tak Shun is devastated due to his father Wai King Yan’s death. He then has mood swings and loses interest in everything. He even completely forgets about his father. For Tak Shun’s sake, his mother Tse Mei Sheung and uncle Tse Tim Sing never mention King Yan’s death.

Fate brings Tak Shun and Fung Cho Yee, who is the daughter of some second-hand store owner, together. She notices Tak Shun seems to be able to detect the resonances of old things. Tak Shun and Cho Yee help many people deal with their worries as Tak Shun reveals hidden tales through bizarre objects in the store.

Tak Shun is led by some old object to eventually uncover the truth behind his father’s death, and he has to again endure the pain of yesteryear.

Urban legends, seemingly true yet seemingly fantastical, connect the past and future. Folklore professor Rosina Lam encounters locals being haunted when she is researching the legend of Bride's Pool. Rosina is asked to investigate the incident from years ago, which ends up leading her to her mother's pawnshop! At this time, Edwin discovers that his father is still alive.

Helios, a most wanted criminal in the global radar, has stolen the South Korean military’s latest mass destruction weapon: a handheld nuclear device DC8 and 16 uranium spheres. An underground trading of the stolen weapon is due to take place in Hong Kong. Chinese envoy Song An, Hong Kong’s Counter Terrorism Response Unit Chief Inspector Lee Yin-ming and South Korean weapon expert Choi Min Ho are all gathered in Hong Kong on a mission to recover the weapon. Physics professor Siu Chi-yan joins the team as consultant. Beneath the shared goal of recovering the weapon, the three regions’ representatives are all armed with hidden agendas. Choi not only has to capture Helios and recover the weapon but needs to prevent the leaking of national classified information. Song has China’s interests in mind. They have overcome a lot of difficulties and become a couple. Yan is a divorced single father with a daughter.

After the failed marriage, he did not long for love affairs until he chanced upon an Inspector of the Serious Crime Unit, Mok Man Yee. They have gradually developed their relationship through a business contact. However, in order to avoid the recurrence of genetic and mental diseases, Yee detaches her feeling from Yan.

This comes as a huge blow to FU. He is not willing to lose his love, but neither can he reveal his real identity. Caught up in the dilemma between love and money, FU finally chooses the fortune road of no return.

Into Thin Air' begins with Zhing and Winnie as a married couple. One day when Zhing is solving a case about a 'Rose Murderer', his son is there. His son wants to play with Zhing and Zhing is annoyed because he is trying to catch the murderer, so he shouts at him and pushes him away. Zhing then tries to find the murderer but the murderer has escaped. After this incident Zhing was fired and wasn't a police officer anymore.

Two years later the series tells us that Zhing and Winnie are divorced. Zhing has opened a service place that helps people find lost belongings with his cousin Super and friends Bo and Yen. Zhing has opened this servicing place to help people find what they have lost and also in the hope of finding his son.

Siu and her father are in the acting industry but they play small parts in series and they help out the director. One day Siu is looking after many children that are a part of a series and she brings them to a fast food restaurant. The children are all running about and being quite noisy. Zhing and Super are at the fast food restaurant too and see all the children running around in circles. Siu loses her earring and Zhing helps her find it. They acknowledge each other and Siu and Zhing exchange business cards.

'Into Thin Air' continues with a range of sub plots, mysteries and investigations. This series is also full of suspense, romance and emotional moments.

The series takes place a few months after the 3rd installment.

Chan Siu Sang and Wai Ying Zi have been dating for a while and seem to be in a stable relationship. Everything seems to be looking up for Ying Zi now that she's in a stable relationship and finally got a promotion at work, but the only that she and Siu Sang seem to fight about is marriage. He wants to rush into marriage but she wants to put it off for a few years to focus on her career since it is flourishing. Their relationship is further complicated when Siu Sang becomes jealous of Ying Zi's new handsome co-worker Ken, Mad that Siu Sang does not trust her, the two decide to break up. Ying Zi soon starts dating Ken since the two grew close while working together and Siu Sang begins dating Sunnie who works at the forensic department after being pursued by her.

Having gone through so many tragedies in the past Chan Sam Yuen finally decides to focus on her family as top priority. She and Ching Fung have patched up their marriage even though it is still not perfect. With a difficult pregnancy Sum Yuen is no longer focus on her career. All seems well with her and Fung when she gives birth to a son until Fung gets entangled with female triad boss Chiang Tin Wing and her husband Sing Jin Choi. Fung is in charge of the case of Wing and her crime empire. While investigating Wing, she takes a liking to Fung and drugs him so she can have her ways with him. She uses their one night of passion to blackmail Fung into continuing their affair. Choi finds out about the affair between his wife and Fung, enraged with his wife's infidelity he accidentally kills her and frames Fung for her murder. With evidence to clear Fung of the crime Choi decides to kill Fung as revenge for ruining his marriage.
