Mainland-born Liang Huan came to Hong Kong with her daughter Li You Hao in the 1980s to be reunited with her husband, Li Gao Shan. However, he dies unexpectedly leaving Liang Huan to fend for her late husband's teahouse.

The widowed Liang Huan remains indomitable amidst adversity. Fortunately, she has the help of Li Gao Shan's friends, Luo Yi Tong and Lao Jin, as well as the support of the teahouse staff. During Hong Kong's return to China in 1997, the new generation represented by Li You Hao, Luo Zi Liang, Luo Zi Kang, Lao Yong Yi, Lao Yong An and Xie Lang Geng have all grown up to become members of society.

They experience the height of the Asian financial crisis, the SARS epidemic, and the subprime mortgage crisis in the United States. They continue to persevere and exhibit the spirit of Lion Rock when it comes to their career, their future and their relationships. They not only focus on developing business in Hong Kong but have also expanded their teahouse business to Mainland China with the belief that as long as Hong Kong is united with the motherland, Hong Kong will surely usher in a better future.

It tells the story of a court intern who falls in love with her work and goes on her way to become a judge bringing justice to those who need it.

Qiao Nuo, a fresh graduate, comes across an unexpected opportunity to become an intern for the city court. Because of her lack of knowledge for what the work entails, her abilities are questioned by the judge. Qiao Nuo witnesses the intense confrontations between prosecutors and defense lawyers with her own eyes and starts to develop an appreciation for her profession. She becomes determined to become a good judge. Under the guidance of the chief judge, Zuo Dong Hai, she is unafraid to put in the hard work to search for useful clues to help a trial case, to accumulate experiences, to meet friends and to find love.
