Keelung, a port city where the seas and mountains meet, was once Taiwan’s window to the world. However, as the years went by, the city’s prosperity gradually faded away, leaving behind those most vulnerable to struggle with life on their own – the homeless, the mentally challenged, children who have been uncared for, and the undocumented elderly from China. Their wails from the back alleys on endless dark nights pierced through the heart of Huang Xiu Yan, who began to work with other like-minded friends to visit these weaker members of society and lend them a helping hand. Huang and her friends are the light shining on dark corners to these people in need, bringing love and hope into their lives.
