Chuseok special - Dance Variety Show "Boom Shakalaka" “Book Shakalaka” is a dance competition program where eight contestants transform into “Dance AlphaGos,” competing with South Korean dance hits from the 1980s to the 1990s. The contestants will also incorporate and put their own spin on the dance moves that trended during each decade. The program is especially garnering attention for its recruitment of not just idols who are known for their dancing but actors as well as comedians.

Happy families are all alike, but every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way. Directed by Song Hae Sung (A Better Tomorrow), Boomerang Family brings together the impressive cast of Park Hae Il (War of the Arrows), Kong Hyo Jin (Love Fiction), Yoon Je Moon (Dangerously Excited), Yoon Yeo Jeong (The Housemaid) and Jin Ji Hee (Moon That Embraces the Sun) to form a dysfunctional family forced to live together under one roof.

Faced with both a marital and career crisis, struggling director In Mo (Park Hae Il) has no choice but to move back home and live with his mother (Yoon Yeo Jeong). His sister Mi Yun (Kong Hyo Jin) is also getting a divorce and planning to move back home with her teenaged daughter (Jin Ji Hee). Their older brother Han Mo (Yoon Je Moon), who's been in and out of prison, has been living at home all this time, and he is not happy with the sudden intrusion. With nowhere to go, the three troubled siblings have no choice but to put up with each other again as they try to get their messy lives back in order.

Two feuding eccentric families with super powers clash when their young sons confront each other after a silly mistake. Meanwhile, the local high school principal has mysterious powers of his own that trump those of the two rival clans. How did this civilian acquire them? Or perhaps a better question, who or what is using him?

Japan is in trouble. Serious trouble, to the tune of 800 trillion yen. At the current rate of national debt accumulation, the country will effectively collapse in a few years' time. The Ministry of Finance traces the beginning of the end to 1990 when a real estate cap set in motion a series of events that caused the bubble economy to burst, plunging the nation into hard economic times. But the Ministry has a crack plan to reverse all this. Into the picture comes flighty indebted bar hostess Mayumi (Hirosue Ryoko) whose mother has just passed away - or so she thinks until grave-faced civil servant Shimokawaji (Abe Hiroshi) shows up on her doorstep. It turns out her mother Mariko (Yakushimaru Hiroko) invented a time machine and traveled back in time to prevent the Finance Minister from making his disastrous policy move. Mariko has since gone missing, however, and now it's up to Mayumi to go back to 1990 to find her mom and, oh yes, save Japan. Directed by Baba Yasuo, Bubble Fiction: Boom or Bust is a delightfully over-the-top comedy that colorfully and good-naturedly pokes fun at Japan's contemporary concerns and past bubble economy. Heads would burst if one tried to analyze the time travel logic or economic reasoning presented in the film, but the goal here is laughter, and Bubble Fiction: Boom or Bust delivers it in large, sidesplitting portions. Director Baba contrasts the somber present with a hilariously excessive neon-lit 1990, a time when dresses were tight, eyebrows were thick, and money was everywhere for the taking. Abe Hiroshi (Trick) transforms seamlessly from a humorless, gray-haired salaryman to a goofy and irresponsible womanizer, while petite pop idol Hirosue Ryoko (Collage of Our Life) and former 80s idol Yakushimaru Hiroko (Always - Sunset on Third Street) make a formidable time-travelling mother-daughter duo. Packed with broad humor, pop culture references, and bubbly nostalgic fun, Bubble Fiction: Boom or Bust is easily one of the most enjoyable and entertaining films of 2007.
