Shiratama Sayako has never experienced much good luck. Since she was a child, she dreamed of becoming an architect. She studied hard, but she repeatedly failed her university entrance exams. Now, she is 30 years old and works in a field far away from her ideal job. One day, she happens to meet mysterious university student Ogasawara Taku. She tells him about her past dream of becoming an architect. Ogasawara Taku tells her that it is never too late and that she can still get accepted into a university. Inspired by their talk, Shiratama Sayako decides to study once again for her university entrance exams. After she studies so hard, she finally gets accepted into a university. There, Shiratama Sayako meets Ogasawara Taku again, who is a senior in the architecture department.

Season 2 of this drama starts off with Machi being married to Dai Yashiro, while Kenji Rusudo is a rival real estate agent.

Set 2 years after Sangenya Machi and Yashiro Dai left Teiko Real Estate's Shinjuku office.

The real estate office has seen a steep decline in business due to competition. Niwano Seiji visits Sangenya Machi for help, but he is surprised to see her holding a baby.

The next day, Sangenya appears at Teiko Real Estate and deals with customers who are having problems.

One day, the very good-looking Tachibana Soichiro (Shirota Yu) assumes the position of TLB’s new president. Sumire becomes his mentor. She is rapidly attracted to him because of his boundless kindness. However, Soichiro, who is the son of the owner of TLB Group, appears to have mixed feelings about marriage and love … … Meanwhile, a couple, Suzuki Yusuke (Wada Masato) and Sato Kanna (Sasaki Nozomi), visits TLB. Sumire tries to serve them. However, as soon as Kanna sees Sumire’s face, she starts to talk about wanting to change the person in charge. Even after that, she stubbornly refuses to have contact with Sumire. Sumire agonises about her face being the reason. Then she recalls that Kanna share the same first and names as her best friend in high school. Sumire, who cannot give up a reunion with her good friend whom she even dreams about, hits out at Kanna. 37-year-old Hasumi Rika is the customer centre supervisor at a medium-sized mail order company. Her father has passed away and because her younger sister married first, she lives in the family home with her mother. She has always thought to herself that it is her part to look after her mother Tomoko in her old age.

One day, Rika is invited by her yoga instructor Kiyota Etsuko to attend a marriage hunting party and finds herself paired with Sakamoto Eikichi, a man who does not even maintain his nostril hair. Meanwhile, Tomoko suddenly declares that she is remarrying. Worried about her mother, Rika accesses the marriage hunting website she has used. She is initially doubtful but arranges to meet a man who sent her an email. She gradually gets into the “marriage hunting market” and becomes involved in it. At first, she makes light of it, thinking that a person like herself will be able to find a good partner immediately. But she sees with her own eyes the marriage hunting situation of a female around 40 and is made to realise her own value on the “market”.

However, her competitive spirit and the encouragement of fellow marriage hunters makes her continue marriage hunting. As Rika does so, she learns what kind of person she is, what she truly wants and what really matters in life. Just as she is starting to look once again at the marriage and future that she wishes for …

The story follows a family of Japanese immigrants who crossed over to America 99 years ago. Kusanagi plays both the young Hiramatsu Chokichi (later taken over by Nakai) and his son, Ichiro. When the war breaks out the Japanese immigrants face racism and segregation. Ichiro pledges his alliance to America and gets sent to Europe, second son Jiro stays back with Ichiro's beloved Shinobu (who he has a crush on) and tries to protect his parents' farm. Their two sisters Shizu and Sachie are sent back to Japan and have to experience the horrors of war, one in Hiroshima and the other in Okinawa.
