Following the ascension to power of Taira no Kiyomori, the Minamoto clan is exiled. Minamoto no Yoritomo meets Masako, the sister of Hojo Yoshitoki and later marries her. Following this marriage, the gears of Yoshitoki's destiny begin to turn.

The crash of Doctor Heli has left a huge scar. Dr Haitani, who whenever rides the Doctor Heli and talks in the radio, gets flashback memories of the crash, and needless to say, shakes and trembles when talking. Mio Oshima, who was on her way to her wedding, was engulfed in an accident and lost her bridegroom. The two of them were inflicted with a major wound in their hearts.

In order to overcome PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), Haitani began receiving counsel from the psychiatrist, Shiori Ninomiya (Rika Izumi).

However, the site where lifesaving is needed cannot wait. There are successive calls requesting for the Doctor Heli. And the collapsing of the subway tunnel happened. Haitani, who cannot go to the scene, had no choice but to make desperate efforts in the hospital.

It has been one and a half years since Aizawa Kosaku, Shiraishi Megumi, Hiyama Mihoko and Fujikawa Kazuo were assigned to Shoyo University's North Hospital. They have only three months left of their fellowship programme (specialised training programme) to be flight doctors and each of them have come to the crossroads where they have to think of their lives after graduation. Haruki Hanyu, who worked as a prosecutor, changes sides and becomes an attorney. He opens his law office "NEXUS". Sae is a high school student who is studying hard for her college entrance exams. She lost her father when she was very young and so lives her mother Ryoko in Hokkaido, Japan. She then meets Kouhei, who attends a specialized high school teaching fishery. He hopes to follow in the footsteps of his father and grandfather as a fisherman. These two young people meet and have a long distance relationship. Although their love is strong it does not last.

Sakaki Makio, also known as "Tornado" is a tough 27-year-old high school drop-out. By academic standards, he's pretty dumb.
