Aika and Tomoki were members of an acting troupe who pretend to be brutally murdered in order to get revenge. However, a detective who was conducting an investigation into assaults on the homeless rushed to the scene, thinking it was a real murder. While arguing with the detective, another incident occurred where a homeless person was assaulted. Due to their interference with the investigation, the troupe of performers who got involved with the case decide to cooperate. In order to track down the culprit, Tomoki takes on the role of a homeless person, living in the park and initiating a sting operation.

The day before Tomoki’s wedding day, he is falsely accused of sexual harassment. Due to the false accusation, he loses his job and his fiance leaves him. Tomoki decides to kill himself. While standing on the ledge of a rooftop building, he sees a woman running toward him and screaming. She is attacked by a man with a knife. Tomoki becomes involved and gets stabbed by the man, but it turns out the attack was a staged event and Tomoki was not really stabbed. Tomoki learns that the staged event is called "enjiya," which takes place upon a client's request. This is the first time he hears of enjiya. Tomoki decides to hire Aika to take revenge on people who falsely accused him of sexual harassment.

The possibility of murder fuelled by a grudge is high from the situation at the crime scene, and a male stalker emerges in the line of investigation. However, Ukyo focuses his attention on a missing section from a document package for a new book that Shoko was working on. It is eventually determined that Shoko was attempting to write a novel with an environmental theme which is completely different from her style of writing so far. Ukyo and Kanbe try to get information from the employees at a trading conglomerate that Shoko had interviewed.
