Fung, aka “King of the Gigolos”, is now ‘retired’ and running a nightspot in Hong Kong’s Lan Kwai Fong entertainment district. He takes on a rare new client, Monica, who has reluctantly turned to prostitution to pay her mother’s medical bills. Having been referred to him for carnal guidance after a customer labels her a “dead fish”, Monica inevitably falls for Fung’s charms.

Though Ko Chit (Damian Lau) masterminds a series of high-profile robberies, he only steals from the rich to give to the poor. But when Detective Kong Yeung (Joe Ma) traces a large sum of illicit money back to the illusive thief, he triggers an intense cat-and-mouse game that brings their lives closer than ever to danger, deceit and betrayal. As two heads of the same coin, Chit and Yeung eventually develop mutual respect for one another, but where do they draw the line between good and bad?

The drama is a fictionalized account of a true love story between an older woman and a younger man in 1950s China. Starring Maggie Cheung Ho-yee as Koo Sun-yuet and Moses Chan as Miu Tin. Yuet, the wife of a wealthy businessman, falls in love with Tin, a man ten years her junior. The two elope to the countryside and lives modestly for the remainder of their lives. Before Tin dies, he handcarves a long stair path on the mountain so Yuet can travel down with ease. Moses Chan plays Miu Tin, catches a glimpse of Koo Sun-yuet (Maggie Cheung) on her wedding day and falls in love. Sun-yuet marries Ho Sei Cheng (Cheung Kwok Keung 張國強), the rich owner of an herbal shop. It was not before long that Sun-yuet discovers that Sei Cheng's having an affair with his helper, Oi Tai (Aimee Chan). Shortly after, Sei Cheng passes away and Sun Yuet decides to look after Oi Tai when she discovers that Oi Tai is pregnant with her husband’s child. All this time, Miu Tin is working in the herbal shop secretly staying beside her. When Sei Cheng’s family battles with Sun-yuet on the rights to the herbal shop. It is during this volatile time, that he confesses his love. And convinces Sun-yuet to elope with him. Miu then uses the next 50 years to handcarve a staircase for his beloved wife so she could get down the mountain more easily.

Widow TONG SUK-FAN (Louise Lee) is saddled with hardship alone, struggling to bring up her two sons CHONG YAU-CHING (Ruco Chan) and CHONG YAU-KIT (Ron Ng). The brothers join the Intelligence Unit and the Operations Unit of Anti-Terrorist Force respectively, and both gain recognition from their superior SHUM CHI-NGO (Eddie Kwan), which is supposed to be a comfort to their mother. Unexpectedly, their brotherhood is turned to enmity owing to an intelligence. Through a reliable source from a journalist YIP TING (Yoyo Mung), YAU-CHING probes into a secret organization, during which he nearly gets himself killed and cannot resume duty immediately. After seeking aid from his girlfriend CHUNG YAT-KA (Aimee Chan), who accesses the database in secret by leveraging her duty as the intelligence analyst, he uncovers that there is a mole in the intelligence agency. His younger brother YAU-KIT not only suspects him of being a traitor, but also takes advantage of his absence to court YAT-KA. Just as YAU-CHING is caught helplessly in a dilemma, fortunately, he gets help from YIP TING, and the two gradually develop romantic feelings for each other. However, in an attempt to ferret out the culprit, YAU-CHING does not hesitate to use himself as the bait, walking to the path of no return. Long-gone seems to be the days when fidelity, love and righteousness still mattered to him...

Born and raised in Cheung Chau, CHEUNG BO SAN's (Raymond Wong) nature of being too ambitious but having little talent, drove his father CHEUNG SING MUI's (Elliot Ngok) seafood restaurant business to bankruptcy. BO SAN felt disheartened and depressed, but fortunately he had a female director CHENG PO PO (Aimee Chan) by his side supporting him. When BO SAN crashed his boat and broke his leg, PO PO was willing to push him around in his wheel chair. Meanwhile, KWOK HEI MAN (Selena Li) suddenly gives up on her career and goes back to Cheung Chau to help her mother YIP WING SAN (Susan Tse) manage their resort business. It turns out, HEI MAN secretly worked on a project to develop a hotel kingdom with another person and intentionally started a relationship with BO SAN to upset PO PO. HEI MAN's motives were all seen by her first love CHING LAI WING (Ruco Chan). WING could not accept her wrongdoings at all, so now he and PO PO were in the same boat.
