Satoru Fujinuma is an unpopular manga artist, who doesn't like having relationships with other people, although he also works part-time delivering pizzas. Satoru has the special ability of "revival", that allows him to go back in time before terrible incidents occurred and right whatever wrong occurred. He goes back continually until the incidents are prevented. 18 years ago, a serial murder case took place with the victims being children. Satoru, using the body of an elementary school student, travels to that time to catch the killer and to save his mother who faced the criminal.

In 1986, Park Gwang Ho works as an excellent and enthusiastic detective. His life changes when he’s pursuing leads in a serial homicide case and then passes through a time portal, which transports him to present day Seoul. Because he was occupied with work and left the household to his wife, he does not even know why Toshifumi aspired to be a career officer. The detectives of Joto Chuo Police Precinct are also displeased with the overbearing attitude of the detectives of the Thirteenth section. After that, the investigation makes no progress at all. The only results they have is a report from forensics about “minute metallic particles collected from the scene”. However, there is nothing that they can link to the criminal. As time passes without the expected results, the situation develops in an unanticipated direction. Another young woman is found strangled to death on the deck of a cruiser moored at Koto Marina and the police finds no evidence of assault. Furthermore, the body is barefoot once again. Katsuragi does not think it is a casual coincidence that the two locations are by the waterside. He suspects the criminal of crossing the waterways, which are arguably the metropolis’ blind spots, by boat to transport the dead bodies from the crime scenes. Are the victims barefoot because of some message from the criminal!? The case gets plunged into more and more confusion.

Kimhan and Mookarin were engaged to be married but a tragedy destroyed their happiness. Mon, Kimhan's sister, was found dead and her husband Tada, Mook's brother, was accused of killing her. The case went to court and Tada was acquitted with Mook taking the stand as her brother's alibi and Mon's death was ruled an accident.

Yet, through it all, neither Kimhan nor Mook could forget their love for each other. They were filled with conflicting feelings of love, hate, revenge and loyalty as they, and the people around them, get caught in Kimhan's whirlpool of revenge.

Tae Jin becomes a police detective. When a call brings the brothers together, they get ready for brotherly bonding, but Tae Jin gets killed. Tae Soo decides to get revenge on his brother's killer.
