Yono Miyako is a single 30-year-old contract employee. She returns from Tokyo to her hometown of Ibaraki, her dream city, to take care of her mother, and while there, she meets Hashima Kanichi, a kind but financially unstable part-time clerk. They share a mutual attraction, and the relationship between the two deepens, but as they confront their realities and worries for the future, the two find themselves drifting apart. As she worries about love, work, and caring for her parents, her own environment is constantly changing. She looks like the Earth is rotating and revolving around it. Miyako, who lacks the ability to make decisions and goes back and forth between resignation and hope, single-mindedly pursues happiness while hesitating.

The grotesque abandoned corpses of two housewives were found with their skirts tied up around their necks by a homeless man. This was followed by yet another murder one year later. Together with the beautiful editor Kahiyama Rika, Shirakawa heads to the small town of Keshinohara where the cases occurred. As Aonuma, he interviews the people involved one by one and gets close to the hidden truth with his formidable powers of deduction. The film takes place in 2046. The Chinese government has created the first cybernetic organism, K1, programmed with sophisticated social conscience, ideal for police applications. Initially deployed in a remote village for testing, K1, is loved by the villagers, and performs all duties and expectations flawlessly, except one. Su Mei, a fellow police officer falls in love with K1, creating a problem as cyborgs are not programmed to feel such feelings. Meanwhile, another cyborg, K88, disappears after suffering a neural meltdown, and K1 is called in to hunt down the renegade robot.

Hinako Todo (Haru) is a rookie detective assigned to the #1 investigation team at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. She became a detective, because she wants to find the boundary between people who kill and those that do not. She always carries with her a shichimi (pepper powder) bottle which was left by her late mother. She sprinkles the shichimi onto everything she eats. One day, Hinako and her colleague detectives go to an area where a body was found. The case is presumed to be a suicide case, but the dead man is a suspect in an unsolved murder case. The man died in the same manner as the victim in the unsolved murder case.
