A girl who loves to sing, Nino Arisugawa experiences her first heart-wrenching goodbye when her beloved childhood friend, Momo, moves away. And after Nino befriends Yuzu, a music composer, she experiences another sad parting! With music as their common ground and only outlet, how will unrequited love play out? Since both boys promised Nino that they would find her one day through her singing, she holds on to that hope and continues to reach out with her voice. Working as an ordinary artist on Bai Ze's comic project The Legend of Demon Sea has aspiring artist Feng Xue feeling like wasted talent. To vent his frustration, he begins another version the project, filling the illustrated adventures of an alchemy master with mythic parallels to his daily grind. With his comics Feng takes vengeance whenever he's slighted or passed over in the studio, drawing his colleagues and boss into unflattering scenes. But when Bai Ze discovers an illustrated version of himself suffering under Feng's brush, he's far from angry. He praises Feng Xue for his originality, and takes the new draft to his boss. This is when Bai Ze also learns what it means to be frustrated at work, challenging him to choose between what he believes in and what his job demands.

Korean auteur director Hong Sang-soo creates a cryptic romance shot beautifully in Black & White. The story captures a love triangle-like relationship between a filmmaker, his enigmatic young female assistant, and his friend is told twice, with the second version retelling their affair in a different light. Soo-jung (Lee Eun-ju) is a Cable TV writer who is working with Young-soo (Mun Seong-kun), the producer of the same team. He goes with her to an art exhibition held by his former junior student, Jae-hoon (Jeong Bo-seok). Jae-hoon is fascinated by Soo-jung, and wants to date her. They hit it off, and begin dating. But when they're about to have sex, Soo-jung confesses she is still a virgin. Jae-hoon is turned off by that, and their relationship is ruined. Jae-hoon, who still loves her, decides to make a second attempt, when the two come across each other at a party. But will Soo-jung be so forgiving? The film captured several awards including Grand Bell's Best New Actress Award for Lee Eun-ju, who later would tragically commit suicide at a tender age of 24 while at the height of her blossoming career.

Midori has an affinity for Wanda, but she is afraid of him. Wanda gets members of the circus troupe to follow him using his supernatural powers and even commits murder.
