A housewife becomes enraged with jealousy over her husband's affair. Meanwhile, their son sits in the periphery, observing their violent confrontations. One evening, the housewife takes a kitchen knife into their bedroom to exact revenge on the father. The father though is able to repel her attack and throws her out of the bedroom. The mother then goes into the son's room and from there it hovers the family into tragedy.

Suffering from double vision, a single mother (Cocco) tries to take care of her baby in the grip of terrifying hallucinations. Experiencing a nervous breakdown, she is deemed unfit to take care of her child and has it taken away from her. The only respite the mother has from her visions is when she sings. Regarding the love-hate relationship between them, Kurosaki is also forced to admit that his feelings towards Katsuragi are complicated. Katsuragi is the person he hates most, but also the closest person to him. Eventually he begins to wonder whether, in fact, Katsuragi is simply using him. As the action rises to its highest pitch, Katsuragi imposes a charge far higher than anything Kurosaki has ever paid. Will he be able to recover the money Ishigaki has stolen? Will he be able to save the company president's daughter? And how should he face the destiny that links him to Katsuragi

Based on a manga written by Tatsuhiko Yamagami, the story is set in a former seaport town Uobuka, where 6 former criminals were sent to live there by the government, with the intention of re-socialising them. Aside from the few who know about the project, the general townsfolk has no idea of the former convicts' identities. Tsukisue is the pleasant and efficient municipal official put in charge of the programme. As he slowly learns about their past, a body is discovered.

The police have just accidentally shot the gangster boss, Shun, in the head. Chief Inspector Chen reluctantly brings Shun to the Emergency Room at Victoria Hospital, but he's more concerned with covering up his team member's mistake. As Dr. Tong tries to convince Shun to have the surgery to remove the bullet lodged in his brain, Inspector Chen is more interested in interrogating Shun about his fellow gang members.

Tong and Chen both take their work seriously, but Chen is so fed up with his job that he couldn't care less if he follows the letter of the law. Tong accordingly holds Chen in contempt for his aggressive disinterest in his victim's well-being and rebuffs him every time he tries to prevent her from doing her job.

Shun, the clever criminal, provokes both of his captors, because as long as he is handcuffed to a hospital gurney, he has control over both Tong and Chen. He knows the etiquette and protocol that govern Tong's job and manipulates her lack of prior knowledge. Shun knows that his best opportunity for escape is at the hospital. He is trying to delay as much as possible, in order to give a chance for his gang to come rescue him. Chen realizes what game Shun is playing, but feigns ignorance, because he wants a chance to capture the entire gang. Tension builds between the three very different personalities, as the night progresses.

An extremely stylish, slick bank-heist thriller from Korea.(Yes, I know that's barely a summary - Jakarta is a movie that's more effective the less one knows about it. I'll provide a more detailed plot summary further on down, for those who can't live without details)
