Sung Gil, an old funeral director, lives with his unwell son. Sung Gil is strong but poor. He is too poor to be forced to work as an employee of a large funeral company. A woman who has many stories moves to the next house with her little daughter, and she becomes a caretaker for Sung Gil’s ill son. Sung Gil’s son, who only wants to die, begins to know hope and happiness. Around that time, a benefactor of the town who cared for the homeless dies and the homeless want his funeral to be held in the town square. The old undertaker thinks it’s his job to do.
In 2050, the construction of Alice, where time travellers who managed to travel through time gather, is completed. That’s when a rumour on a prophecy spreads, stating that time travel will soon fade in history. When Yoo Min Hyuk and Yoon Tae Yi, a couple, are sent to the year 1992 to secure the rumoured prophecy, Tae Yi realizes that she has conceived a child and decides to stay in the year 1992 by herself. After changing her name to Park Sun Young, she eventually gives birth to a beautiful son, Park Jin Gyeom. Unfortunately, Jin Gyeom suffers from emotionlessness, a side effect of radiation exposure. In 2010, while living on with his life relying on his only family, Sun Young ends up getting murdered by someone. It’s been ten years since Sun Young’s death, and Jin Gyeom runs into Yoon Tae Yi, a physics professor, who looks exactly like his mother while pursuing the culprit who is responsible for his mother’s death.
Eun Shi Yeon is a police officer and she was demoted to the hit-and-run task force at a police station from the regional investigation unit at the National Police Agency and will work alongside Seo Min Jae, who is the ace officer of the hit-and-run task force. The two will be working to chase down Jung Jae Chul, who is a former Formula One racer now committing crimes with his madness for speed and cars.
Under the colonial rule of Japan, 400 or so Koreans who are conscripted into slave labor on 'The Battleship Island', attempt to escape for life. 1944, during the Japanese occupation of Korea, conscripted civilians head out to the Hashima island. Nicknamed 'The Battleship Island' after its resemblance to a war vessel, some are lured by false promises of high wages. LEE, a bandmaster of a jazz bigband and his only daughter, CHOI, a thug, and Mallyeon are among the workers. But upon arrival, they found that the island turns out to be an isolated hell where the workers are forced into slave labor. As the Pacific War nears its end, PARK, a Korean independence activist assigned on a mission to rescue a Korea's spiritual leader from the island. As the U.S. launches massive counterattack on Japan, the Japanese decided to blow up the island in order to bury the truth about their awful treatment of the Korean slave labors. PARK discovers the plan, and conspires with LEE and others for mass escape of all 400 Koreans.
