In 2029, after the governments of North and South Korea announce a 5-year plan to reunify the country, strong sanctions by the world's powerful nations cripple the economy and lead to a hellish period of chaos. With the appearance of an armed anti-government terrorist group called The Sect which opposes reunification, the President creates a new police division called the Special Unit which amasses significant political power. However, the intelligence service Public Security, which sees its own influence drop, hatches a plot to annihilate the Special Unit. Amidst this bloody struggle between two ultra-powerful institutions, rumors emerge of a secret "Wolf Brigade" being formed within the Special Unit. The human weapons who are called wolves, "Illang".

This is a 100% pre-produced drama. Filming began on 2016-Oct-17 and finished on 2017-March-06. It’s was specially aired on jTBC for the broadcast channel’s 5th year anniversary.

Kim Sul Woo is a mysterious National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent whose identity is known only by a few superiors at the top of the agency. As a highly skilled and suave agent, he can accomplish any and every mission he is assigned. When a large conglomerate, Songsan Group, is identified as a threat to the country, Sul Woo needs to go undercover again. Woon Guang was a nameless stuntman who became a top star through unexpected good fortune after starring in a Hollywood hero series called, "Dark Death." He is in his forties and now specializes in acting as a villain. The often childlike Woon Guang is constantly involved in some scandal, and despite his occasional innocence, the world star is conceited and brash. He bullies Sul Woo, who panders to his every whim. Meanwhile, Sul Woo is preparing for his secret mission. Unfortunately, he also has to deal with Cha Do Ha, Woon Guang's manager, who used to be the head of his fan club, and is enamored with the celebrity. She is wary of Sul Woo, and anxious that Woon Guang may be interested in him, so she constantly gets in Sul Woo's way. While the secret mission must be completed, the seemingly perfect bodyguard and the world star's fan manager continue to collide, and their relationship may be something Sul Woo could not have expected.

Gun Woo also meets So Eun and, together, they go after the case that took place in the past.

Hae-Gwan's (Lee Sung-Min) daughter Yoo-Joo (Chae Soo-Bin) is missing. People around him tell him that his daughter died in the fire that took place at a subway station in Daegu, but Hae-Gwan refuses to believe she is dead. To find Yoo-Joo, he goes everywhere and anywhere. One day, he receives a phone call that the caller saw Yoo-Joo on an island. Hae-Gwan goes to that island, but he can't find her there. At night, Hae-Gwan sits on rocks by the sea. He sees a light fall into the ocean and he is then swept by big waves. Hae-Gwan then finds himself on the beach. He sees something unusual and first believes it is a landmine. It turns out it is actually an AI satellite robot which saves every conversation made on a phone. Hae-Gwan thinks he can find his daughter with the help of the robot. He names the robot Sori ("Voice").

The release of the film inspired controversy because the family of the father's victims did not support its production. In its first week on release it topped the South Korean box office sales charts.
