Park Cha Oh Reum is a newly appointed judge who is assigned to the 44th Civil Affairs Department at the Seoul Central District. She is always on the lookout for injustice and is able to profoundly empathize with others. Compared to her, Im Ba Reun is a cool-headed man of principle with the creed of ‘Court that is equal to all’, and he is displeased with junior judge Park Cha Oh Reum who is overly sympathetic when it comes to cases.

This drama tells a story of love, survival with a focus on a star chef who fell from the top chef in the best Chinese restaurant in Korea to a tiny kitchen of a local diner down on its luck.

Meanwhile, Doo Chil Sung (Jang Hyuk) is the owner of a building. He is an ex-gang member and he was in jail for 5 years.

Judge Lee Jung Joo (Park Eun Bin) presides at the Seoul District Court. She sometimes swears at shameless defendants with unspeakable words. Meanwhile, Judge Sa Ui Hyun (Yun Woo Jin) is assigned to the judgement bench with Judge Lee Jung Joo. He is well known for his excellent use of the law and his conscience to reach verdicts. Now, Lee Jung Joo fights against a huge power who framed her older brother for murder and killed him.

Managing director Kang Pil Joo is envied by many inside the Chungah Group where he is known for his intelligence and high-performance. He keeps his real identity a secret from the Chungah Group founding family and serves them as an obedient servant but he is actually grooming them for his scheme. His plan was to make Mo Hyun fall in love with Jang Bu Cheon for his revenge, but he finds himself falling desperately in love with her free-spirited personality.
