In the Great East Japan Earthquake, a young girl named Luca loses her family and is left with a disability that prevents her from speaking properly. She can, however, make her voice heard when she sings. When she remembers that her dead sister’s boyfriend is attending a university in Osaka, she travels there only to end up in an orphanage despite the best intentions of the people who care about her. Over time, Luca becomes Kyrie, a singer who sings on the streets. Her old friend Ikko, whom she meets by chance, offers to be her manager. Will Kyrie succeed as a singer with Ikko’s help?

It is a weird film… The thesis put forward by the producers (which I totally agree with) is that the J-Horror boom of the 1990s and early 2000s was a modern iteration of the collections of ghost stories that were compiled by the likes of Lafcadio Hearn--a contemporary folk mythology. So, to explore that idea, they have an actor playing Lafcadio Hearn in a sort of mini-biopic--and then that leads into an Amicus-like horror anthology film that turns some of Hearn's stories into short ghost movies, which are then woven into a more traditional documentary about J-Horror films that has talking heads (like me) and behind-the-scenes footage of the making of some of the films… and faked "behind the scenes" footage of a made-up film used as a generic example.

One day, Shiraishi Itsumi dies at Seibo Maria Girls High School. She falls off from the rooftop of a school building. Itsumi is the daughter of the administrator at the school and she was envied by all the other students there. Did Itsumi kill herself or was she killed accidentally or intentionally? At the time of her death, she held a lily of the valley flower in her hand. A rumor spreads that somebody in the literature club killed Itsumi. Itsumi was the president of the literature club. A friend of Itsumi, Sayuri, is now the president and she holds a regular club meeting, reading stories written by members. The theme of the meeting is “Shiraishi Itsumi’s death”.

Three companions are frightened by a horrible ghost that haunts their dorm. Tired of running away, they summon a spirit to help them defeat the ghost. But things turn chaos when they can't control and handle the situation which finally brings up a hilarious haunting story.
